Middle School Talk - Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights

This 18 minute audio is an excerpt from a talk given to the middle school students at Unity Charter School in Morristown, NJ.  There's an interestnig story behind thsi talk - upon issuacne of a patent for a method of creating an image for a locket, Mr. Feigin commented to a friend, "it was just like an 8th grade assignment where I had to write steps to create a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich.  I even rember the teacher's name."  The friend responded, "you should contact that teacher and thank her."  It turned out the teacher is ... still teaching 8th grade!  Mr. Feigin contacted her and next thing he new, he was giving a presentation to her current class.

While this talk was given to middle school students, it's really a good broad general overview of what can be protected by intellectula property and why it's important to know about it for those in any sort of business.
